Last updated: April 15, 2026
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This privacy policy informs you about how we process your personal data when you use the Robozaun mobile application (the "App") and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data Controller
The controller responsible for data processing in connection with the App within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR is:
2. Processing of Personal Data
We process personal data that you provide to us and data that is automatically collected during the use of the App.
A. Data provided by you
- Account Registration: When you create an account, we process your email address and password. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (Performance of contract).
- Social Login: If you use Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, Google profile ID, and profile picture URL from Google. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Robot Configuration: We process serial numbers and custom names for your robotic mowers to link them to your account. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Note: To use the App, you must provide the above data. Without this data, we cannot provide the App's services or manage your robot.
B. Automatically collected data
- Robot Location Data (GPS): To provide the core functionality of the App (geofencing, tracking the robot, and setting no-go zones), our backend processes the geographic coordinates of your robotic mower(s) and your defined zones. Since this data is linked to your account, it is considered personal data. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Device Data: When using the App, we automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (e.g. installation ID). This is necessary to ensure the security, stability, and authentication of the App. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Legitimate interests).
- Error Monitoring (Sentry): In the event of an App crash, technical logs (crash reports) are sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.). These logs contain information about the device state and the error context at the time of the crash. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Legitimate interest in maintaining App stability).
C. Local Storage (on your device)
The App stores certain information locally on your device (AsyncStorage):
- Authentication Tokens: To keep you logged in.
- App Settings: Language preferences and selected robot ID.
These are technically necessary for the operation of the App. Legal basis: § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG (Germany) / Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive.
3. Recipients of Personal Data
Your data is only transferred to third parties if this is necessary for the performance of the contract or if we have a legitimate interest:

Privacy Policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
- Google (Google Maps & Sign-In):

4. Data Transfer to Third Countries

5. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or unauthorized access. All data transmission between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS).
6. Data Retention
